Soccer Recap: Mathews Comes Up Short

Mathews lost against Northampton back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Blue Devils lost 5-2 to the Yellowjackets. Mathews have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mathews' defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Northampton, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Mathews didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, an 8-0 loss against West Point on the 23rd. As for Northampton, they will take on Kempsville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northampton will need to watch out since Kempsville have now posted at least four goals in their last three matches.
