High school football rankings: Bishop Hendricken finishes No. 1 in final Rhode Island MaxPreps Top 25

Hawks finish on top after winning fourth consecutive state championship.

The high school football season in Rhode Island came to a close over the weekend. Bishop Hendricken (Warwick) wrapped up its season in November with a 49-40 win over La Salle Academy (Providence) in the state championship game. That helped propel the Hawks to the No. 1 ranking in the final Rhode Island MaxPreps Top 25.

Bishop Hendricken (7-2) went unbeaten against in-state competition en route to its fourth consecutive state title. The Hawks have won 17 championships dating back to 1968, including 11 in the 2000s.

North Kingstown (9-3), which won the Division 1 title, lands at No. 6 in the finals rankings.
