Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Westview

Westview waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Eastside Blazers by a score of 5-1. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jack Massey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has become a key player for Westview: the team is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jaxon Engle, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Brendan Miller was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Westview's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Eastside, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
