Softball Recap: Garland Comes Up Short

If Garland was feeling good fresh off their 22-0 takedown of Lakeview Centennial last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Garland Owls fell 10-7 to the Wylie East Raiders on Tuesday. The Owls have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Payton Delgado made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Mady Key was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Garland's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4-1. As for Wylie East, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Garland and Wylie East will both be playing North Garland the next time they take the field. Garland will head out to face North Garland at 6:30 p.m. on March 25th, while Wylie East will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on April 1st.
