Recap: North Stanly Comets vs. Mount Pleasant Tigers
Make it 11 blowout wins for the North Stanly Comets this season. They were the clear victor by a 45-23 margin over Mount Pleasant. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory North Stanly has posted since November 29, 2023.
It was another big night for Shalyn Bell, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of North Stanly's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Coble, who scored eight points.
The victory makes it two in a row for North Stanly and bumps their season record up to 13-1. As for Mount Pleasant, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Stanly will square off against Albemarle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Albemarle is coming into the match hot, having won their last ten games. As for Mount Pleasant, they will head out on the road to challenge Union Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Union Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
