Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant vs. Willow Glen

The Mt. Pleasant Cardinals will face off against the Willow Glen Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Pleasant's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Willow Glen's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Mt. Pleasant is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Pioneer just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. Neither they nor the Mustangs could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked the Cardinals' first draw of the season.

Meanwhile, Willow Glen didn't have quite enough to beat Branham on Wednesday and fell 3-2.

Jason Gonzalez and Lawson Mettee scored both of Willow Glen's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

With that draw, Mt. Pleasant's record moves to 6-1-1. As for Willow Glen, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3-2.
