Softball Recap: Cox Has No Trouble Against Churchland

Cox made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Churchland, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Falcons put the hurt on the Truckers with a sharp 16-6 victory on Thursday. The contest marked the Falcons' most dominant win of the season so far.

Chloe Vice made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Emmy Bowen was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.3 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Olivia Peterson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Cox always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Cox's record is now 4-2. As for Churchland, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coming up, Cox will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Tallwood at 4:00 p.m. As for Churchland, they will face off against Booker T. Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mighty Bookers will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
