After a string of four wins, Wheat Ridge's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to the Skyview Wolverines. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Farmers of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-10, 25-8.

Wheat Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adele Valdez, who had 24 assists and five digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Thea Schutter, who had 13 digs.

Wheat Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Skyview, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Wheat Ridge will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mountain Range at 6:00 p.m. on October 2. As for Skyview, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Adams City on the 23rd.
