Plano East took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against McKinney Boyd, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers skirted past the Broncos 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since February 28th.

Jadyn Dawson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Dawson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julia Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Plano East's win bumped their record up to 17-9. As for McKinney Boyd, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 14-10.

Coincidentally, Plano East and McKinney Boyd will both be playing Rock Hill the next time they take the field. The Broncos will host the Blue Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
