Basketball Recap: Taylor Sipfle and Sage Henry Secure Win for Hamilton

Hamilton won the last time they faced Basha and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hamilton Huskies took down the Basha Bears 65-51. The Huskies pushed the score to 58-34 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bears cut but never quite recovered from.

Hamilton was led to victory by Sage Henry and Taylor Sipfle. Henry went 7 of 17 to rack up 20 points and seven boards, while Sipfle dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. Sipfle is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last 14 games she's played. Malia Romero was another key player, putting up seven points.

Despite the loss, Basha still got an impressive performance from Amira Reynolds, who posted eight points and 16 boards. Reynolds is becoming a predictor of Basha's success: when she posts at least ten rebounds the team is 4-2 (and 7-9 when she doesn't). Rylie Sword also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Hamilton's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Basha, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

Hamilton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-53 loss against Perry on the 7th. As for Basha, they have also already played their next contest, a 59-55 victory against Chandler on the 6th.
