Football Recap: Spanish Fork Skates Past Hunter with Ease

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Spanish Fork walked away with it. They blew past the Hunter Wolverines 42-7 on Friday. With the Dons ahead 35-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Nixon Warren went supernova, rushing for 57 yards and two scores, while also throwing for 234 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 75% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Spanish Fork's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-7 otherwise. The Dons also got help from Kohen Frost, who showed off his sure hands for 134 receiving yards.

Spanish Fork's record now sits at 4-7. As for Hunter, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Looking ahead, Spanish Fork will take on Springville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Dons surely won't give up without a fight. Hunter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
