Merritt Island Christian hadn't done well against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Merritt Island Christian Cougars walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 16-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sophia Kachouroff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Shae Janke, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Parker Morrison was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

The win snapped Merritt Island Christian's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-4 record. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
