Volleyball Recap: Letcher County Central Extends Winning Streak to Four

Letcher County Central had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Buckhorn on Thursday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wildcats. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

One reason for the win was Letcher County Central's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-12, 25-10.

Boone Baldwin paced Letcher County Central's offense, picking up five kills. Baldwin got some help from Ashton Lawson and his nine assists. Baldwin was also solid from the service line: he led the team with 11 aces.

Letcher County Central's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-7. As for Buckhorn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Letcher County Central will welcome Perry County Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Buckhorn, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pikeville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
