Baseball Recap: DeSoto County Comes Up Short

DeSoto County blew Bayshore out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Bayshore got their revenge. DeSoto County fell just short of Bayshore by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since February 25th.

This is the second loss in a row for DeSoto County and nudges their season record down to 6-13. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Bayshore, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DeSoto County will welcome Lemon Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lemon Bay will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Bayshore, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Booker at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
