Derek Patton posted a new career-high in stolen bases on Thursday. He scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Considering he played a big game the last time he faced off against Northside back in May of 2024, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock. Patton is becoming a predictor of Payton College Prep's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-7 when he doesn't).

Coming up, Patton and Payton College Prep will challenge Amundsen at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last time these two faced off, Patton and Co. were forced to settle for a 3-0 loss.
