Soccer Game Preview: Goldsboro vs. Midway + How To Watch

The Goldsboro Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Midway Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Goldsboro is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

On Monday, Goldsboro didn't have quite enough to beat Spring Creek and fell 3-2. Both teams had to tread carefully at times as the refs weren't afraid to hand out yellow cards: Teddy Acorn was handed one for Goldsboro, while Spring Creek got theirs courtesy of Christopher Mulenga Miteu.

Ethan Burton and Aiden Ramirez-Cruz scored both of Goldsboro's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 25 goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Midway). They blew past Rosewood 9-1 on Wednesday. Given Midway's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Rosewood are ranked 485th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Midway's victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 13-6-1. As for Goldsboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.

Goldsboro came up short against Midway in their previous matchup on October 6th, falling 3-1. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
