Baseball Recap: Basalt Comes Up Short

Basalt lost against Coal Ridge on Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Longhorns lost 10-2 to the Titans. The Longhorns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elias Schendler was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Basalt's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Coal Ridge, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2-1.

Coming up, Basalt will head out to face off against Colorado Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Longhorns' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Coal Ridge, they will host Battle Mountain at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
