Softball Preview: Staley Falcons vs. Millard North Mustangs

The Staley Falcons's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Millard North Mustangs at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.

Staley came up short against Papillion-LaVista on Thursday, falling 9-1.

Meanwhile, Millard North entered their tilt with Millard South on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They never let the Patriots onto the board and left with a 7-0 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Jayda Juarez made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive pitching appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.

In other batting news, Abby Beard was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Mallory Closman, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
