Basketball Game Preview: Labette County Grizzlies vs. Tonganoxie Chieftains

The Labette County Grizzlies will challenge the Tonganoxie Chieftains at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Labette County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-39 to Field Kindley. The contest marked the Grizzlies' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The losing side was boosted by Landry Obrien, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards she has posted since back in March of 2024. Amery Baker was another key player, putting up seven points and five steals.

Meanwhile, Tonganoxie didn't have quite enough to beat Ottawa last Tuesday and fell 45-42. The Chieftains have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tonganoxie now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Labette County, their loss dropped their record down to 16-4.
