Softball Recap: Fort Mill Find Success

The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Easley Green Wave 2-1.

Haley Rogers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 16 Ks.

Fort Mill has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Easley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Fort Mill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Easley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.77 runs per game on average), something the Green Wave will no doubt try to take advantage of.
