Marble Falls falls despite strong effort from Lexie Edwards

After a string of three wins, the Marble Falls Mustangs's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were dealt a 61-34 loss at the hands of Burnet. While losing is never fun, Marble Falls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 805th, while Burnet is ranked 129th).
When it comes to explaining why Marble Falls lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lexie Edwards. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points.
Marble Falls' loss dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Burnet, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 24-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marble Falls will face off against Jarrell at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Jarrell will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Burnet will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Lampasas at 6:15 p.m. on January 26th.
