Eastern View suffers fourth straight loss at home

Recap: Eastern View Cyclones vs. Spotsylvania Knights

The Eastern View Cyclones's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They took a 42-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spotsylvania. Eastern View was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Spotsylvania apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Spotsylvania got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was KELLY ROSS out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. ROSS hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Another player making a difference was AMIAH BLACK, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.

Eastern View's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.3 points per game. As for Spotsylvania, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern View will face off against Culpeper County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Culpeper County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 266 points over their last four contests. As for Spotsylvania, they will head out on the road to face off against King George at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. King George is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
