Basketball Recap: Sigourney Drops Season-High Score on Cardinal

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sigourney). They put the hurt on the Cardinal Comets with a sharp 80-54 win on Monday. The Savages have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Sigourney pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.3 points. As for Cardinal, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sigourney and Iowa Valley will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Sigourney's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Cardinal, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Davis County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
