Basketball Recap: West Charlotte Starts off Right with Win over Rocky River

West Charlotte took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 63-43 margin over the Rocky River Ravens. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Paris Reaves went supernova, going 9-for-19 on her way to 21 points along with five boards and four steals. Those 21 points gave her a new career-high. Kenya Grier was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Rocky River's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lundyn Spears, who posted 18 points, and Jade Bell, who scored 20 points.

Rocky River's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

West Charlotte wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-26 victory against Garinger on the 20th. As for Rocky River, they have also already played their next game, a 67-35 loss against North Mecklenburg on the 19th.
