Baseball Recap: Greater New Bedford RVT Find Success

Greater New Bedford RVT never let their opponents score on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Old Colony RVT Cougars 1-0. This was a revenge game for the Bears: when they faced off against the Cougars on April 9th, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

Not much got past Jack Anderson, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Old Colony RVT off the board. Anderson also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Greater New Bedford RVT is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Mark Tiffany was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Greater New Bedford RVT's record is now 4-7. As for Old Colony RVT, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-4 record.

Coming up, Greater New Bedford RVT will square off against Dighton-Rehoboth Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Old Colony RVT, they will take on Cape Cod RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
