Volleyball Game Preview: Carlsbad Lancers vs. Rancho Bernardo Broncos

The Carlsbad Lancers will face off against the Rancho Bernardo Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, Carlsbad came up short against Westview and fell 3-1.

While Carlsbad ultimately came up short, they really made Westview work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-27, 25-15, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Rancho Bernardo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of San Marcos.

Rancho Bernardo wouldn't go down easily and took San Marcos into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-18, 25-14, 20-25, 15-9.

Carlsbad's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Rancho Bernardo, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Carlsbad beat Rancho Bernardo 3-1 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
