Basketball Recap: South Harrison Takes a Loss

South Harrison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 54-39 fall against the Lawson Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 61-35 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Lawson had a senior duo take command as Isaac Willoughby went 8 for 9 to rack up 18 points and Chase Jones posted 13 points and six assists. Willoughby's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Chase Mathes, who earned seven points.

South Harrison's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Lawson, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-13.

South Harrison wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 77-45 defeat against Mid-Buchanan on the 6th. As for Lawson, they have also already played their next game, a 48-46 loss against West Platte on the 7th.
