Basketball Recap: Fountain Hills' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Fountain Hills waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They strolled past the Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 60-46. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 56-44 loss the last time these two teams met.

It was another big night for Ahren Lloyd, who went 8 of 11 en route to 20 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Heaney, who posted six points in addition to ten boards and three steals.

Despite the defeat, Scottsdale Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jackson Harrison put up 16 points. That was a full 34.8% of Scottsdale Christian Academy's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dominic Dickerson, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 11 points.

Fountain Hills' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 33.9% in those games and 31% outside of them. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.

Fountain Hills and Scottsdale Christian Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. Fountain Hills (ranked 92nd) will meet BASIS Phoenix (ranked 328th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Scottsdale Christian Academy will face off against Red Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Monday up 170 places (129 vs. 299).
