Basketball Game Preview: West Fargo Packers vs. Red River Roughriders

The West Fargo Packers will square off against the Red River Roughriders at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

West Fargo took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victor by an 80-58 margin over Grand Forks Central. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Packers have posted against the Knights since March 5, 2022.

Meanwhile, Red River had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 60-50. While the Roughriders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Red River pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for West Fargo, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
