Basketball Recap: Palmdale Takes a Loss

Palmdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 97-34 loss at the hands of the Birmingham Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1111th, while the Patriots are ranked 474th).

Palmdale's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Toles, who posted nine points. Anthony Delouth was another key player, putting up seven points.

Palmdale's record now sits at 3-11. As for Birmingham, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmdale will host Littlerock at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmdale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season. As for Birmingham, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Granada Hills Charter at 4:55 p.m. on Wednesday. Birmingham knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Granada Hills Charter likes a good challenge.
