Volleyball Recap: Norfolk Academy Starts Season with Victory at Home

Norfolk Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the TEACH Homeschool Beach Breakers. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Beach Breakers, too.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-12, 25-17.

Anabelle Phillips was the offensive standout of the contest as she had ten assists and three aces.

Phillips wasn't the only good server: Norfolk Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in 20 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

With the defeat, TEACH Homeschool broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Norfolk Academy will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Matoaca at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for TEACH Homeschool, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Denbigh on the 26th.
