Basketball Game Preview: McMinn Central Chargers vs. Walker Valley Mustangs

McMinn Central is 2-8 against Walker Valley since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The McMinn Central Chargers are taking a road trip to square off against the Walker Valley Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

McMinn Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Polk County to the tune of 90-62 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

Meanwhile, Walker Valley was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Chattanooga Christian 75-48. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 23 points or more this season.

Walker Valley's win bumped their record up to 22-3. As for McMinn Central, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.

Things could have been worse for McMinn Central, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 78-64 loss to Walker Valley when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can McMinn Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
