Preview: Deltona Wolves vs. University Titans
The Deltona Wolves will be playing at home against the University Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Deltona: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while University has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
Last Friday, Deltona earned a 28-18 win over Pine Ridge. The victory was just what Deltona needed coming off of a 59-0 defeat in their prior matchup.
The team won by holding Pine Ridge to a paltry 234 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Deltona's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Pine Ridge's QB won't forget Robert Williams anytime soon given Williams sacked him four times.
Meanwhile, University put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 42-21 margin over Lyman. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for University's three-point performance the contest before.
University's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony May led the charge by rushing for 78 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Deltona's victory pushed their record up to 1-8, while University's bumped their own up to the opposite: 8-1.
Deltona didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against University in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 31-27 win. Does Deltona have another victory up their sleeve, or will University turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
