Soccer Game Preview: Covenant Day vs. Davidson Day

The Covenant Day Lions will take on the Davidson Day Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Davidson Day will be up against a hot Covenant Day team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Covenant Day's defense stepped up to hand Rabun Gap-Nacoochee a 4-0 shutout last Friday. The score was close at halftime, but Covenant Day pulled away in the second half with three goals.

Meanwhile, Davidson Day put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Greensboro Day School 6-0. Given Davidson Day's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Greensboro Day School are ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Davidson Day's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those four matchups. As for Covenant Day, their win bumped their record up to 6-0-1.
