Volleyball Game Preview: Sonoma Valley Dragons vs. Vintage Crushers

Sonoma Valley hasn't had much luck against Vintage recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Dragons will venture away from home to take on the Crushers at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Sonoma Valley lost 3-0 to Petaluma on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-7, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Vintage didn't have quite enough to beat Petaluma on Thursday and fell 3-2.

Vintage wouldn't go down easily and took Petaluma into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-22, 23-25, 19-25, 15-13.

Sonoma Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Vintage, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 10-7.

Sonoma Valley couldn't quite get it done against Vintage when the teams last played back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
