Softball Recap: Pecatonica Comes Up Short

Pecatonica was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Lena-Winslow Panthers, falling 11-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on Monday.

Pecatonica saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sammy Abate, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Pecatonica's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Lena-Winslow, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pecatonica will host Dakota at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Dakota will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Pecatonica surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lena-Winslow, they will be playing at home against Forreston at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
