Volleyball Recap: Catholic - N.I.'s Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

If Catholic - N.I. was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of St. Martinville on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the Notre Dame Pioneers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

While Catholic - N.I. ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 12 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 26-28, 20-25, 15-12.

Amelie Trappey paced Catholic - N.I.'s offense, picking up 25 kills. Trappey got some help from MacKenzie Batiste and her 30 assists. Finally, Niyah Ferdinand kept Catholic - N.I.'s defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Catholic - N.I.'s loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Notre Dame, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Catholic - N.I. will face off against St. Thomas More at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Notre Dame, they will take on St. Louis Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
