Basketball Game Preview: Alta Hawks vs. Brighton Bengals

The Alta Hawks will challenge the Brighton Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Alta will head into Friday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 30) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-55 victory over Olympus.

Quincy Kegel was her usual excellent self, putting up 28 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Alta's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alia Baldassano, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Brighton won against Highland last Friday with 66 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Brighton took their contest with ease, bagging a 66-36 win over Olympus. The Bengals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Alta is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Brighton, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Alta barely slipped by Brighton when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 48-47. Will Alta repeat their success, or does Brighton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
