Baseball Recap: Bessemer City's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for Bessemer City, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They blew past the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons 12-3 on Friday. That looming 12-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Yellow Jackets yet this season.

Justin Short made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bessemer City is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Short was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
