San Juan (Blanding, Utah) scored 28 points in the second quarter to secure a big 41-0 victory over Parowan (Utah) on Saturday.
The Broncos scored on a touchdown pass by
Logan Meyer to
Ammon Mitchell, a
Barkley Christensen touchdown pass to Mitchell, a defensive touchdown and a touchdown run by Christensen in the quarter.
The lead that San Juan took on a touchdown pass by Christensen to
Bobby Bowring with 10:00 left in the first quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.
With the win SJ extended its winning streak to five games. The Blanding school defeated the Red Devils 38-6 last week.
Meyer played well for the Broncos in the victory. The senior running back threw one touchdown, ran for one touchdown and kicked four extra points. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
When the two teams played each other last season, San Juan came away with a 42-3 victory.
San Juan (5-0) goes up against Richfield in a 2A - South game matchup next week, while Parowan (0-4) locks horns with Grand County also in a 2A - South game.
