Baseball Game Preview: Philo Electrics vs. Cambridge Bobcats

The Philo Electrics will face off against the Cambridge Bobcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Philo will be strutting in after a win while Cambridge will be coming in after a loss.

Philo barely beat Maysville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Electrics put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 10-1 victory on Thursday. That looming 10-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Electrics yet this season.

Landon Foster tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Garrett Tom and Ky-Mani Philip did most of the damage at the plate: Tom went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles, while Philip went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Tom a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josh Gooden, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

Philo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maysville only posted an OBP of .231.

Meanwhile, Cambridge suffered their biggest defeat since April 26, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against St. Clairsville, falling 16-8.

Cambridge's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Philo, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7.
