Football Game Preview: Tarboro Vikings vs. Ayden - Grifton Chargers + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Kamerin McDowell-Moore and EJ Ruffin are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Tarboro Vikings will face off against the Ayden - Grifton Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tarboro is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Tarboro's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 55-0 win over Beddingfield. The contest marked the Vikings' most dominant victory of the season.

Caiden Everette was his usual excellent self, rushing for 103 yards and three TDs. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Tarboro was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 274 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 196 rushing yards in 20 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Ayden - Grifton hadn't beaten Greene Central on the road since November 1, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Chargers blew past the Rams 35-0. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 25 points or more this season.

Ayden - Grifton's win came from a few key players Tarboro will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Loyalty Fuller, who rushed for 33 yards and one score, and also picked up 46 receiving yards. John Fields was another key player, throwing for 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Tarboro's record now sits at 8-0. As for Ayden - Grifton, their record is now 6-2.
