Softball Recap: Rifle Bears vs. Longmont Trojans

Rifle won the last time they faced Longmont and things went their way on Friday too. The Bears were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Trojans. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Gia Keithley made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Keithley was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Rifle got a big performance out of Brynn Axelson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Axelson has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 16 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Jackson, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
