Baseball Recap: Cincinnati Country Day Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Cincinnati Country Day, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past the Clark Montessori Cougars 12-2 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Nighthawks also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2021.

Cincinnati Country Day got a great performance from Harry Freeman as he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave Freeman a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zach Pavlisko, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Pavlisko, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Cincinnati Country Day always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Cincinnati Country Day's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-10. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Clark Montessori, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cincinnati Country Day will face off against Monroe at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Clark Montessori, they will challenge Seven Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
