Softball Game Preview: Baltic Bulldogs vs. DeSmet Bulldogs

Baltic will square off against DeSmet at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Baltic is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 18 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against West Central on Tuesday. They lost 17-1 to the Trojans.

Baltic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Hoekman, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Hoekman is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Meanwhile, DeSmet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against Florence/Henry, falling 19-2.

DeSmet's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Baltic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
