Basketball Recap: Hilliard Darby Panthers vs. Olentangy Braves
The Hilliard Darby Panthers lost against the Olentangy Braves back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Hilliard Darby took a 57-38 bruising from the Braves. While losing is never fun, Hilliard Darby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Braves are ranked third).
Olentangy was led to victory by Whitney Stafford and Sydney Mobley. Stafford scored 14 points along with two steals, while Mobley dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Mobley hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chayla Rankin, who scored ten points.
Hilliard Darby's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Olentangy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-1.
Hilliard Darby will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. As for Olentangy, they will head out on the road to face off against the Celtics at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
