Softball Game Preview: Monmouth Regional Falcons vs. Manalapan Braves

The Monmouth Regional Falcons will face off against the Manalapan Braves at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Monmouth Regional came up short against Matawan Regional and fell 7-3. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Manalapan entered their tilt with Rumson-Fair Haven on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Bulldogs 13-3. While the Braves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Manalapan's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Monmouth Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Monmouth Regional came out on top in a nail-biter against Manalapan in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
