Volleyball Recap: Nelson Island Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Aniak

Nelson Island faced Aniak in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Islanders took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Halfbreeds. The loss was the Islanders' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Nelson Island fell to 17-1. As for Aniak, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-1.

Nelson Island does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Aniak, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Akiachak on the 15th.
