Middlesex scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They received a blow as they fell 43-24 to the Northampton Yellowjackets. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Jakub Bowen threw for 28 yards and one touchdown. Davonte Griffin was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards and one score.

This is the second loss in a row for Middlesex and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Northampton, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Middlesex will head out to face off against West Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will be up against the Pointers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Northampton, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on John Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
