Softball Game Preview: Sandusky Blue Streaks vs. Perkins Pirates

The Sandusky Blue Streaks will head out to take on the Perkins Pirates at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Sandusky has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sandusky managed to slip by Columbian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Blue Streaks came up short against the Tornadoes on Thursday, falling 14-3. The Blue Streaks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Amari Prentice was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Makayla Popke also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Perkins lost 15-1 to Oak Harbor on Thursday.

Perkins saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Brunner, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Sandusky now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Perkins, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sandusky has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Perkins struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Sandusky might still be hurting after the 25-6 defeat they got from Perkins in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can the Blue Streaks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
